Open to Production switch

Just think about how easy reloading that open gun will be after you switch back.
We were just talking about this! When I first got my open gun after sstk I couldn't fuck up a reload. Now it seems just as small as a sstk

Are there any skills learned in shooting Open that particularly help with Production?
when I switched back to prod after shooting open for a few yrs, I noticed the speed/agressiveness improvement like truk mentioned... I also noticed how much my sight tracking / shot calling had improved.. since I learned to really see everything the gun was doing with the dot, that translated over to the irons easier than learning it on the irons. I thought I could track the sights and call shots w/ irons before shooting open, but shooting open really helped there.
the hardest part going back to prod from open was the points... it's not too hard to get ~95% of the points w/ major and a dot.

Not shooting like a pussy and speed. Movement, entry and exit., Efficiency. That shit is critical in open. Everyone can see a dot. Well maybe not me, but most people.
I can see those things being more important in Open. One can likely get farther in Production with shitty movement skills

I excited to see how chad does in production. Since he has only shot one match in production...this should be a good test of "what can you gain from shooting open". I think he is going to do great. Not trying to put a bunch of pressure on you CB!

Seriously…you can somewhat get by in other divisions without good movement…but that is the most critical thing in open. without great movement you are automatically behind 3-5 seconds. Look at me I usually get beat by points and stuff….i suck at shooting. My stage times are close to the top because Chad made me practice movement for 6 months.
Last September when I started practicing with Chad, he said wow you fucking suck. Lets work on movement because its so important. Now that we have a good handle on that…its time for me to hone my other skills
