Dawson sights require fitting, so I'm guessing you cocked up your part of the transaction?

The sight itself was fine and shot accurately with the factory adjustable rear sights with a six o'clock hold. But I gave it to Joe Blow gunsmith to install it. He had good recommendations, but he did shit job and probably was too busy wanking off to put red loctite on the set screw. The Hennings sights are pretty much idiot proof, so I went with those and installed them myself.

What kind of notch goes well with an 0.100" front sight?

Because of my up close vision I went with .100 front sight and had the rear site cut to .145 notch. Everyone says that is for speed but if your up close vision is not good then it gives enough light on each side of the front to get a much better sight picture at close and far distances.

Stubb,
Go Dawson for the front sight they are much nicer than the CZ Custom. The sight is already cut for the roll pin, the front of the sight is serrated, and the cut for the fiber is counter sunk so the fiber dot is smaller and more uniform. I'll be putting as .095 wide (narrowest Dawson offers) front on my CZ. I have a .100 front on my m&p.

Since mini poppers are not small and 30 yards is not far… is this a trick question?

Wide front sights can start to be a pain out around 200+ yards, but if your gun is sighted in right it still doesn't matter.

I'm running a HAJO rear on my CZ, which takes a 7.5 mm tall front. CZC doesn't sell that height in an 0.100" width.

Dawson measures their sights differently, and the equivalent height is 0.215". The only option they had in stock was an 0.090" wide one, which I ordered. They'll make custom widths for a $10 upcharge and multi-week lead time. I'll see how the 0.090" option works out before considering the custom route.

You don't need narrow sights.  What you need to do is shoot production with an old Glock 23 with a shitty trigger and some beat up fat plastic sights.  Thats the only way to roll.

The 0.090" wide Dawson arrived in the mail. Installation on my IDPA-illegal Accu Shadow took a solid five minutes, most of which was spent retrieving a bigger hammer to break through the Loctite. I used it in this evening's dry fire, and it doesn't seem any slower than the wide front in close-range hosing, probably because I'm mostly indexing off the dot for that. It does seem like it will be more precise for tight shots. We'll find out for sure in October's matches.

Dumb people love the metric system. Its easy as fuck.

What is dumb as fuck is making front sites and measuring from the top of the site to the bottom of the site instead of top of site to the top of the slide.

Dawson had the most complicated and confusing explanation on how to pick sights. The Dawson front sight I had flew off my gun in the middle of a match.

I could see how it would be confusing if one is mentally retarded.

If the sight flies off during fire, an incompetent moron installed it.

You probably won't die making a bad run on a USPSA stage but we put our egos on the line so it can feel pretty close to the same stakes.
