If lead is so good why is everyone shooting coated, plated, and jacketed bullets? I know a couple of people who lost accuracy in a short period of time from either excessive or improper cleaning of their barrels.
It's just a fad, like smokeless powder.
Most commercial cast bullets I've seen are not very good and most people are too lazy to cast their own. It's also kind of messy loading them. Usually have to take your seating die apart and clean lube out every so often.
I don't really know much about the soft lead swaged bullets except my dad used them by the ton back in the day shooting bullseye. Don't remember him complaining about any problems.
