Not it. Our shop doesn't send anyone, there's too many consumers there getting in the way. It's hard to conduct business.

You are joking right? This industry show has more hitchhikers than Greyhound. Psuedo press, entertainment vips, and the highly touted SMEs.

Love the people going around collecting everything not nailed down off of booths and putting all of it in there little wheelie carts that they use to run into everyone's ankles and blocking aisles. They are mouth breathers who give everyone SHOT show crud. Vendors sell shit off their booths. The majority of SHOT is rubbernecking.

OH almost forgot, all the people clogging up the booths trying to get sponsored or get a vendor to sponsor their event. There is not a booth at SHOT that is not plagued by this groveling.

I went last year for a company. I wore a white shirt and tie. I went as a buyer for their company. Look like a professional, have a position that equals spending a company's money and SHOT show is much different experience than going as a gun tourist. Which are most of the attendees it seems.

It was work. If you want to go someplace to just look at stuff go to a nice gun store instead.

SHOT show is like a strip club for the tac-tubbies.  All kinds of sexy on display, but none of it is coming home with you.

You are both right.

Working the booth, you get to spot the tourists and time wasters quickly.

If you have a buyers tag for a retailer, but look like a tourist, I may ask what distributors you prefer to work with. Don't know? Tourist.

Media tag from an outfit I don't know? Here is our marketing firms card. Call them, next week.

That said, I still love it.

So far it's looking like I'll be going this year. Have always wanted to check it out so looking forward to the experience. Going to be working a booth though so will be a pretty damn busy week.

Yup. But so many of them before that show the ER rooms are overflowing.
Then all the snot filled mouth breathers coming for this show guarantee this years SHOT will help cement its reputation for making everyone sick. It's like one of those cruise ships.

But really, who can resist a chance to stand in line to nut hug? All the usual suspects will be there acting out larger than they really are.
Autographs. Photos. Book signing. Tales of folk lore.

Have fun.

The snot isnt too bad. Leaving the men's room and realizing that maybe half of the guys actually wash their hands after taking a piss is.

If you go, just dont shake any hands, or wear condoms on yours.

Never had a desire to go. The gun industry is 80%  Yeagers and Vickers. I'm honestly amazed anyone actually gets any work done there with amount of random morons they let in.

Purel on the table for hand sanitizing.

Slivovitza in the cupboard for internal sanitizing.

Spray bottle at the ready to shoo away the amblers and campers.

I'm not attending until they move to within 100 miles of my location, it's not fair to keep having it the same places.

From everything I've heard from people that do go, you're not missing shit. You'd have a much better time visiting Vegas in general and avoiding the sweaty big gun show.
