I'll just post all my rifle stuff in this thread.

One stage from a small 22 match yesterday, the last targets that are not showing on video are two minipaper, one popper, one minipaper and ending with one swinger that's released by the popper. 2Cs @ 7.93:

I'd shoot stangskyting once in a while, but we're not allowed to enter with ARs.

No, actually a big one calibrated for 22. I put two rounds in it to make sure.

Do you have one of those Sauers, or do you use an HK?

Neither. I would shoot stangshooting if they allowed ARs, but they don't.

The rules are very rigid as to allowed weapons. Before the Sauer was approved everyone used Krag and the Mauser M67.

If you're army or army reserves you can shoot in the military division with either HK G3 or 416, but that's it.

I have a Krag and a Kongsberg M67 that was given to me, but shooting bolt action rifles is not really my thing.

Come to the US.........both us and the military use the same rifles

Although I do like how stangskyting seems to be a spectator sport in Norway.

I must be getting old. I can remember when General Norwegian was still an enlisted man. Oh the times we had together.

I shot a steel challenge match yesterday that I won, but no video. Shot another mini rifle match today and sucked.

Quarter size IPSC targets and micro poppers.

I was hoping this was video of General Buck Naked's northern cousin.

We have flood lights at one of our outdoor ranges now, training there every monday.

The slow shooting is because we're trying to shoot only alphas, and the rifle paralell starting position is going to be enforced at the european rifle championship, so we have to practice for it.

What starting position were you used to using before this new one came into effect?

And why the change?

Actually this is the old ipsc starting position. "Stock touching competitor at hip level, rifle parallel to the ground"

In 2012 it was revised to only stock touching competitor at hip level. So by the rules you can now start with the stock at hip level, muzzle pointing up.

I think the parallel thing is a local safety rule at the Hungarian rifle range, where you're not allowed to point the barrel over the berm at any time. It's still being decided for the ERC, if it's going to be for the entire match, or just some of the stages.

We're not used to it in the nordics. If you're DQed as soon as your muzzle is pointing over the berm at any time during COF it's going to be a major concern, so we're just trying to practice for it just to be sure.

WTF do you do to reload if you get DQ'd if the muzzle points above the berm at any time?

Good question, but in general we don't reload.....just start with a 60 rounder or mag extension on the long courses.
