A 650 with a case feeder would be a good place to start and a very versatile machine. You can load just about anything on it.

The 1050 is worth the extra money for high-volume loading of range pick-up brass. You can also laugh at your peasant friends pushing to prime on their 650s and 550s. Several companies produce motors for the 1050 that let you crank out loaded rounds like a boss.

You can rig a Mr. Bulletfeeder to both the 650 and 1050.

Loading for IPSC on a single-stage press is dumb. You have to seriously not value your time to even consider this.

I'd freak the fuck out if I only had 5k primers sitting around.

I just dropped below 10K SPP's and am starting to freak the fuck out.  Next order min 20K and seriously considering doubling it.

I realize that as a retiree I have more free time than most of ya'll here.  A thousand rounds a month on a single stage press works out to about 20 minutes a day of work.

I'm not even interested in STARTING unless I have 2-3 hours to focus.  I hate herky-jerky work when I can't hit 'critical mass'.

Single stage.  I have one for utility work and have never loaded a single round on it. Barely sure where to start LOL.  I think I have an unused loading block and hand primer still in the box somewhere....Even a nutcracker Lee loader.  I need to sell that smack to someone other than that cheap I mean thrifty bastard Vag.

Trying to decide whether Wolf SPP for practice makes senss at 25% discount or just suck it up and run all CCI's.

The Tula KVB-9 worked well enough but not identical to the Wolf that I haven't tested with MY guns.

Hard to find and more expensive.  Was just planning CCI.  Got a preferred source for Federal SPP at a plausible price?

Looked online at cabelas, they sell titegroup at 30$ per lb and federal and CCI small pistol primers are the same price $4.99/100 guess I will be trying that 11.5# hammer spring eventually. Just have to find decent bullet source up here.

Fuck that - Widener's CCI @ $US 25.50/1000 and ETR-7 vs. TiteGroup for sure (not sure they ship to Canada though).

Check www.bullets.com for primers.

They usually have them in stock and run occasional sales.

$9.95 flat rate shipping with $10.00 hazmat fee.

I can buy them cheaper that way than I can at the local gun store if I buy 10k at a time.

I've got two Lee Challengers that have never been used. And the stupid disk powder system. And the dumb Lee priming system. All new in the box. I don't need your stinking press.

I don't know what you are looking at... http://www.cabelas.c...ch-All Products

The smart way is to buy primers $32/1000 not $5/100. I don't see the TiteGroup but at $30/lb you buy it, only because you have to have it.

You can scan http://www.gunbot.net/several times a day until you get what you are looking for.

Shit- you're right - it must have been ten on the last order.

They are showing CCI SPP in stock which is what I use.

Check back, they seem to get inventory in pretty regularly.

The last time I ordered the Federal LPP were actually cheaper than the CCI so I went with them.

I like the prices, so I will keep my eye on them. I can envision a big enough order to offset the hazmat.

So with federal and CCI being the same price, go with federal?

And it looks like Cabelas will be the source for primer and powder so I can avoid shipping charges. Kinda like with ammo, 43$ shipping for 1k rounds, but free shipping at Cabelas.
