Do you think it's frowned upon to dry fire in a hotel room?

Dry fire is not frowned upon.  Live fire, however, is.

There are a couple of stories of idiots shooting up their hotel rooms dry firing the night before matches. The more recent was a match in Alabama a year ago. Someone stated an incompetent from Georgia fired a 45 round through his door.

This guy probably overheard other people in the lobby talking about dry fire and decided his first time should be the night before a match.

Why would you care if it's frowned upon? If someone comes in your hotel room and frowns upon you, bust a cap in they azz.

I dry-fire in hotel rooms whenever I stay in one for a match, but I'm not a dumbazz, so I double-check my gun every time I pick it up for dry-fire, even tho I KNOW it's never loaded when I'm not at the range.

I do all sorts of things there that are frowned upon, that's half the reason for going to a hotel.

How are you holding your gun and posting on Doodie? Do you post on Doodie with your gun, like TheBlackKnight?

Get a ground floor room.  Else it sounds like you're in a Bourne movie.

Close the door and the curtains or it could be frowned on.  A call from some dipshit in the parking lot could get you served and protected the fuck out of.

I did it in Tulsa last week, and I was there for work, not a match. Benefit of driving there. I took scale targets, but to make it realistic for Oklahoma I drew a mullet and a wife beater on them.

Drop mags on a cushion, towel or something.

Frowned upon? Start making some money and stay in decent hotels.

I prefer to stay in Four Seasons. When I am done dry firing, I leave my gun out. Upon a return to my suite, I expect my gun cleaned, lubed and with a cinnamon lollipop sticking out of the barrel.

At Area 2 this year, I clogged the shitter on the first night there. The front desk dude came down to the room, plunger in hand to clear the shitter. My shooting buddy and I were in full match kit dryfiring away the whole time he was there. Timers, draws, reloads, the whole works - No fucks given on his end. Arizona FTMFW.
