He dropped his gun during the course of fire. Should he not have been DQ'd?

Or......pay attention and actually “Watch” the shooter and then all of your questions will be answered as to actually do the ULSC actions.....just saying.

It is not clear from the post whether or not the shooter actually dropped the hammer when he returned to the line. All that we know from the post is that the shooter cycled the slide. If he did not drop the hammer then a repeat was absolutely necessary.

I am surprised that the RO is taking the heat on this one. I would expect the MD to have a serious talk with the shooter and explain that this needs to never happen again.

Shooter was definitely DQ’d.

I unfortunately couldn’t be there but got the scoop.

Shooter was DQ'd. The design of the stage generally had the shooter running right to a 2nd shooting position and then running uprange to the final position.
RO would stay with shooter at 1st shooting areab move across "bay" to 2nd position with shooter and then back uprange while shooter was finishing at 2nd position so as to not interfere when shooter began moving uprange to 3rd position.
Shooter's pistol had a hiccup at 1st shooting area and then had a major failure at 2nd position. Got frustrated at 2nd position unloaded gun without informing RO he was stopping. Then failed to get pistol back into race holster appropriately. Then as I was heading downrange to "officially" clear the shooter, the pistol flattered to the floor...

He was DQ'd, just didn't go well.

FYI - This is supposed to be a link to youtube clip of a snickers commercial to better explain my screen name. Apparently, my attitude can get abrasive when I'm hungry and you're stupid.
