This may sound like a stupid question but how is USPSA represented outside of the USA?

Can/does/will USPSA recognise or accept 'foreign' affiliation?

Cheers :D

ETA,  Oooopppp's sorry, posted in the wrong section, what a fuckin idiot...

USPSA is the US flavor of IPSC (and is a "chapter" of it), everywhere else it's largely just IPSC rules and matches AFAIK.

I believe there are a few countries out there that say F U to IPSC and are actually USPSA affiliated, but I have no proof of that and typing this response was easier than googling it.

Your FAIK is not as far as you may think. There are number of countries that have clubs affiliated with USPSA.

For most, these clubs exist primarily for the purpose of their member maintaining uspsa class, so they can shoot in their class when they go to matches in US.

Really? I thought it was because Vince Pinto was a dick head. Your reasoning makes me less happy about it.

It may make you even less happy if I tell you uspsa mails out the foreign edition of the Front Sight magazine at least one a year... or at least it used tobdo that.

I've heard USPSA has an "Don't be a dick to IPSC" policy of not-supporting USPSA matches in other countries.  Members sure, matches not so much.

I've also heard that if IPSC pisses USPSA off sufficiently that they remove that policy, a fair chunk of the world would switch to USPSA, but USPSA members would no longer be welcome at IPSC matches. Which would irritate the hundred or so USPSA members that like to go to World Shoots.

So, kind of live-and-let-live thing then.

I think your IPSC RD needs to sign off on a USPSA club.

I think your IPSC RD needs to sign off on a USPSA club.

Part of the constitution of the governing body of pistol shooting in NZ says...

"To affiliate pistol clubs throughout New Zealand to promote and foster the practice of pistol shooting at Club, Regional and International level.

To promote and foster the practice of recreational and sporting pistol shooting at Club, Regional and International

level"

If the IPSC RD refused to sign off he would be in breach of the constitution.

I only ask out of curiosity, IPSC is very small here, only a couple of hundred people shoot it, even fewer would bother changing to anything else as all the events here are fairly well entrenched and change doesn't go down well and even fewer still are sick of the bullshit and crap that IPSC brings to the table and the filth that runs it at a world level.

You guys are lucky by the fact that you have the numbers to run both.

There's a 16 stage PanAm match in PR coming up late June. I'm contemplating shooting it.
