Test fire new guns, but that's mostly not by hand. Most of the shooting I do by hand is test firing guns in for service/ repairs. I end up shooting a good number of test targets when customers claim the gun doesn't shoot accurately.
The govt doesn't collect cases anymore.
I'm pretty open about what I shoot personally and what it would take to get me to switch. Basically I'll consider switching if a finger no finger groove gen 4 frame ever goes into production. I've told my boss that 2 of those + a seasons worth of ammo would convince me to switch.
