Pivothead Durango's make you an instant GM

Bought a pair of the Pivothead glasses after waktasz/super-tactical posted them on sale for $149 and took them to the range for a USPSA match. A match where I did my best to generate the hits of a GM - if he were in the midst of a meth withdrawal with his front & rear sights removed.
Shot like crap. Even for a B class scrub. But damn, that camera's view angle and audio/video quality were seriously sick. Bug free. Easy to tell if they're recording or not... (a blinking light is visible in your peripheral if you slide them off 1") and they're pretty damn good sunglasses, too.

I'm happy with them. But if buying gear makes you a GM, this product must need a few weeks to take effect.

That may have been the subtlest plug I've ever seen.

Have they improved the recording status light at all? This weekend, I got a ton of great footage of my LAMR routine...

What do yours do?
I turn mine on and a blue led glows next to my left eye. Tap the button to record and a red one above it blinks. If I slide the glasses off my face, the blinking red light is easy to catch in your peripheral vision.

I wish they'd make the LED solid red when recording video.

It's red for a bit the moment you tap the switch. Slide them forward enough you can see the LED then hit the button. The main problem is that the red light blinks super fucking slow, so sometimes I'll give it a glance to check if it's recording, catch it between blinks and think it's off, and hit the record button again and stop recording.

Or just spend a whole 1.5 seconds looking through them during LAMR

Then turn them on beforehand and edit out some dead airtime. Not really - what I would prefer to focus on during LAMR.
Right before I draw the gun and load it, I slide them forward an inch, tap the button while looking at the red LED, and slide them into place when it lights up. Takes about one second total.

That is seriously your complain?
And you were able to attain a driver's license? It's a miracle someone with such a mental handicap was able to achieve that. Bravo to you.
Hey, all I'm saying is that it's a garbage product repped by garbage people. Nothing personal.

More like ones that reliably turn on when you turn them on and stay on until you turn them off, and indicate immediately when they're on.Compared to all those other cameras that read your brain waves and automatically know when you want it on and off...
Usability, folks. It's important.
But hey, I'm just a fucking customer of their product. What do I know.

Unless otherwise noted, expect that all my posting here is in true Doodie fashion. If my post somehow upsets your sensibilities, well...there ya go.

This problem is common. But training with the Quiet Eye technique will help you focus precisely on where the red dot will appear while allowing your mind to mentally play through your stage plan. Try watching youtube videos of Quiet Eye while wearing the Pivotheads until you can routinely call the red light status.
Alternatively, you can set up the Pivotheads in a laboratory with an observer in another room connected to the Pivotheads by USB. Through a window, the observer will place a playing card into your field of vision. When this happens you say whether the Pivotheads are recording or not recording. The observer will note whether you are correct. If you do several sets of this and achieve better than 50% accuracy you have ESP and do not need the red light, or an occupation as you can foresee the movement of individual stock prices. If you fail to achieve better than 50%, forget the glasses and simply have LiveShots record your stages in Quicktime so they can immediately be ignored by all users of social media.
