Looks like Ben beat the Spanish dude and the Shadow 2 guy.

I am impressed how many spectators were there, and with live broadcast.   Can we do this sometime in the US?

Ok here are some facts, vince pinto and others published THERE WAS NOT TO BE A SHOOTOFF.

I called around and texted on saturday... as I heard no shootoff.. hmm 9 buddies said, nope, chilling in town center... last was like THERE IS A SHOOTOFF HERE NOW....

so we rush off to the range, and got to see the shootoff, if there was actually any info on it beeing, the number of spectators would be much higher.

they put on gravel, painted stages, painted steel etc.... unlike main match ;)

If people will watch IPSC/USPSA and golf, they'll watch anything. Can't believe that many people showed up as spectators.

Must be a cultural thing, it's really not that different from what we do here in the states and yet they have their coveted TV coverage.

At the risk of being serious for a moment, I think that's in large part because firearms are nowhere near as politicized/polarizing in Europe as they are here.

Comments from the Europeans?

And notice how the ROs call "Stop" when the poppers did not fall, and the shooters got reshoot.

I laughed quite a bit at that, my first random thought was POPPER FUUUUUUUUUUCK

Buck you may be right, I know firearm competition in Europe is more popular to watch in general. Maybe there's a forbidden fruit / tradition thing at play. Over here every dipshit with a gun thinks he's a professional.

The TV coverage or lack thereof obviously has to do with the type of targets used.

Obviously white targets are where it's at.  Why didn't we think of that?

Oh, I didn't see no color, that's racist man. I was thinking more about the shapes. It's okay to bully people because their fat, right? Why else would there be TV shows like The Worlds Fattest Loser, etc.??

The White targets were awesome. To be honest I can't believe it took so long. The high contrast was great.

If Foley loses the revolution and we switch here, I figure I'll go up a class as I'm already pretty good at hitting the white targets.

This whole Black Lives Matter movement makes me think we should start shooting white cardboard

That might make shooting at Frostproof first thing in the morning a tiny bit less of a crapfest too.

Long time ago a club did a Halloween match with white 'ghost' targets to be shot.  It was fun but messed with everybody's head.

Maybe not as much, but media are going more and more anti-gun. Mainly because of American mass shootings. Every time one of your nutcases go wild it blows up in our news media and more people start screaming gun control.

And the media have now also caught on to the fact that there sport shooters in Norway using the same evil black rifles for competition that is the favourite rifle for American mass shooters.....So that's really great......A few years ago everyone was completely oblivious to the fact that we could own AR 15s, now every anti gun idiot knows it.

Yeah, "safety by trying to hide" usually works well in the long run.

There are two camps on the issue, I'm on the side that think we should be open about everything and just portrait the sport as serious as possible, I really dont think we have anything to hide. The problem now compared to before is that most mainstream media coverage is about the evil black rifles, not the sport it self.

Then educate the stupid media that the beautiful walnut stocked rifle fires EXACTLY the same bullet as the black rifle fires. One is not more powerful than the other. It is just the socialists trying to control the masses for their own benefit to advance their tyranny.
