At least now you'll get DQ-ed for intentionally lighting up the berm, because tactical.

You can still round dump, you just have to be firing at a target. No mention of actually hitting it. Good luck enforcing that rule.

It'll be just like the original round dumping PE. Which could never legitimately be called because you can't read a shooter's mind.
I won an IDPA match once. It was neat.

why not just go back to the 2005 rule book and leave it be. silly..... like lots of people i shot ipda at first 'cause i only had three mags and didn't know better. it was a good start but after a year it was time to move on. heck, even our own mr stoeger started in idpa (and wore his idpa hat all through production nationals this year!)

the rules changing and disconnect between the real life/ccw crowd and the competitor crowd drives the sport in these goofy directions. couple it with a conflict of interest financially from parties involved and too much say from the people at the top. and finally the just plain idiotic tribal rules interpretations, and being called cover on an invisible line only the so can see...... wow. they're really selling it....

i can go to a uspsa match anywhere in the us and be pretty sure of what i'm getting. idpa is a crap shoot and varies greatly across the us.

Are you referring to the tens of thousands of us who were chased out of IDPA into USPSA by a desire to shoot creative stage plans under the umbrella of a logical rulebook?

You weren't? My mistake. Carry on.

Love that skiing pic BTW. Got me all turgid.

If these rules are approved it will make IDPA interesting again. The only thing I hate is that the slide lock reloads will make round dumping a normal process. If you could jettison an empty mag (with a round in the chamber) it would be a big improvement.

These are the official rules, from the 2017 rulebook that was released this week. There's no "if" involved.

And I might agree with you slightly, except that the shift to 1 second per point down is going to transform it into a bullseye match for those in khaki vests at skill levels below top-tier-operator (Expert) and above.

The chasm between the sharpshooters and masters just got pried open even more widely.

No...these were put out for comment. Clearly they are incomplete because they fail to define the handling of PCC's between stages and start positions for PCC. They are probably close to being finalized, but are not completed. There will be changes and further details

Everything else in my post was exaggerated. Why not the size of the USPSA membership? ;)
