A 700 grain bullet backed by .64 grains of titegroup traveling just under 200fps is a nice light load, very little snap. If this still feels a little stout, wear gloves with lead lining in the palms.

I usually run that load with double primers, to get a clean burn of the powder.

Prima V is some good shit. Loaded some up behind a 150gr SWC from Bayou (which weigh 147gr)

After 250 rounds the inside of the gun is cleaner than with N320. After getting lied to by BEnosites about "how amazingly clean!" WST and Solo 1000 and Ramshot Comp all were supposed to be, I have to admit I was shocked to find that for once they were yelling the truth at me.

WST: Dirty gun.
Solo1000: Dirty gun.
Ramshot Comp: Nassssty gun.
Prima V: Huh. It's still almost clean. ish. Like N-320.

Soft. Just a pinch softer than WST or Comp. Nothing revolutionary, not quite as soft as Clays behind a 147. But plenty soft enough.

When shooting behind a hitek bullet, it smokes like WST or Solo1000 or the other cleanish powders. Nowhere near the shitshow that is Titegroup, though.

9mm
Nobel Sport Vectan Prima V
135 gr Bayou Bullet - Hitek Coated
Federal Small Pistol Primers
1.090-1.100 COAL
EAA/Tanfoglio Stock 2 - 4.5" Barrel, Polygonal rifling
2.8 gr, 794 fps, failure to extract
3.2, 891 120 pf, weak extraction, slide lock
3.4, 929, 125 pf
3.5, 956, 129 pf
3.6 958, 129 pf
3.7 985, 132 pf
3.8 991, 133 pf
10 rounds @ 3.6 gr - Lo 958, Hi 1002, ES 44, Avg 973, PF 131
10 rounds heated on oil heater - 132.7 PF
10 rounds chilled in chest freezer - 130.2 PF
Minimal smoke, no bad smell. Consider to be temp insensitive. Fills about 1/2 a case+, reduced concern of double charges. Consistency is like small sharp pieces of gravel of varying sizes. Seems to stay put in case during loading as opposed to lower density flakes. Current availability quite good. Current cost is competitive with or better than other powders. Comes in 1/2 kilo, 1.1 lb containers so 10% more product than most.
Seeing flattening of Federal SPP's on radius but this is consistent amongst ETR-7, Prima V, TiteGroup, WST and less so of Win 231 in testing so far. Nothing unusual.
I loaded 500 but haven't tested them. I have a good feeling about this powder.

Nobel Sport Vectan Prima V
9mm 124 gr ACME Bullet
Federal Small Pistol Primers
1.100 COAL
EAA/Tanfoglio Stock 2 - 4.5" Barrel, Polygonal rifling
3.7 gr, 979 fps, 118 PF
3.8, 1010, 125 pf
3.9, 1043, 126 pf
4.0, 1062, 131 pf
4.1, err2, 1038???, 124 pf - Failed to read 1st time, reloaded case, suspiciously low...
4.2, 1085, 134 pf
12 rounds @ 4.0-4.04 gr (20 throws before/after load session) - Lo 1060, Hi 1089, ES 29, Avg 1074, PF 133

Update/FYI for 124 gr lovers. The single test at 4.1 gr was suspiciously low, and the 12 rounds at 4.0 was hotter than expected. I use a good quality GemPro scale and carefully trickle single charges until is just barely reads the desired value. I was also controlling OAL to a few thousands of variation. So go figure.

I'll load up a bunch and see how they run. I'm normally a Bayou 135 guy but am considering switching to 124's because price angle.

Actually, I need to 'plunk' test these bullets, 1.100 might not be the 'right' OAL for this nose profile and my barrel but the results stand.

Graf & Sons: All Nobel Sport powders a buck off. So Prima V is $16.99 for 1.1lbs (as of 01/05/17)

I just ordered some N320, which I've never used for 9mm, and some Precision Delta 147 FMJ-TC. Looking for a GSSF load that will run stock Glocks from 43 to 17. Probably around 3.5 gr N320? Doesn't have to make 125PF but realistically that's what it takes to run the guns.

That should do it but I usually run closer to 130-135 to run stock Glocks.

Since Guano has his powder situation sorted out; anybody got an opinion on the Oxford comma?

I do not use it because I was taught to not use it.  It always seemed like 'yet another quirk' of English and didn't make any sense to not use it.

Then again, most of my writing skills are self-taught as I wasn't a very good English student.

I paid entirely too much money for the N320 plus shipping plus hazmat. When I put it on the shelf I noticed I still had some Solo 1000 left, turned out to be a powder hopper full. So I'm just going to sit on the N320 like a neckbeard hoarder for a while.

I use WSF for short .40 Major. I use it mostly because it seems to play nice with coated bullets in terms of smoke, accuracy is excellent, and it is easy to find.  That being said I've shot powders that are both softer and cleaner.

Got 8.8# of Prima V, will be shooting 124 X-Metal RN coated, and 147 CamPro FP plated with them.

Do I load more or less powder with this than TG? I'm seeing mixed results across the interwebs, slightly tending to more powder needed for the same PF.

Going to start at 4.0gr with 124 at 1.100", and 3.4gr with the 147, haven't decided on OAL yet since the bullets haven't arrived.

I never really used TG.

Shake the hell out of the jug of Prima V just before putting it in the hopper. Then shake it some more.

I am half convinced that this powder tends to stratify based on varying grain size, which then contributes to charge weight drift.

Possible but I tend to drain a hopper or three in a reloading session so I dunno. I drain hoppers when done because humidity.
