And we can have as many blankets as we want. There is no 5 blanket limit here.

You just need one each, sharing a big one is just annoying. And we dont use blankets, we use thick fluffy down filled duvets. Blankets are for snoozing on the couch.

We actually have a pretty robust blanket market here. Light blankets, heavy blankets, fleece blankets, wool blankets, and when a blanket just doesn't cut it, you can move into comforters. Of course, there's always the ultimate luxury - known only to us Americans - a blanket and a comforter used simultaneously.

I think those high capacity bedspreads are illegal in Europe unfortunately.

A comforter is just a thicker blanket, not good enough.

Ok
WTF,,,,,,,,,,,
I never thought a revolver thread would get so far into the international blanket debate. I'm on doodie to get away from the relentless political drama. I mean what's next area rugs VS wall to wall carpet?
I need to go over to the tits thread and feel like a man again.

Unimpressed. Poor substitute for high quality down duvets.

I actually have a nice duvet filled with wool. That sucker is too hot for anything other than camping above the tree line.

Slemmo, what's with this individual duvet nonsense. Is it because your bf gets frisky in the night and ruins your sleep? I have a proper king size bed and king size blanket and if my missus tries to tug more blanket to her side I swiftly remind her what happened to reeva steevkamp when she rolled over and hogged the blanky one chilly South African winter night.

Plus unless you're sharing a bed with your brother or some other convicted sodomite wouldn't the shared body heat benefit of a single large blanket be worthwhile on the frozen iceberg you call a country?

Ps even typing the word 'duvet' is slightly gay.
Pps. Yes I'm aware I've now typed it twice. Fml.

We have electric blankets UNDER the normal blanket that you're sleeping on, they are used to heat the bed before one enters it so to speak. And we only have one "normal" double bed size here, which I guess is about the same as your king size. It's still annoying when the gf is tugging on the duvet.

The single down duvet or whatever you call it is what you'll find in most euro countries, at least in northern Europe. You have a thin one for summer use and a thicker one for winter. Duvets filled with anything else than down is not used for sleeping, as it's simply not as comfortable. There's no synthetic material that can compete.

So that's todays cultural exchange.
