Hey Doodies,

Slowandfat decided to be an idiot a year ago and did a teardown/polish job on my tanfo witness elite and install an extended firing pin.  Other mods that seem unrelated is the henning flat trigger.

While f'ing with the gun I broke the long leg of the sear spring.  The gun works except from slide lock the hammer follows the slide forward when the slide stop is released.  I pulled the firing pin block and the problem went away.  Promptly forgot about the problem and have been shooting the thing just fine for the last year.  Now I'm signed up for a regional match that has an equipment check (it's idpa - firing pin block needs to function).  I thought the issue was the sear spring maybe so I replaced it and put the firing pin block back in.  The problem returns.  The firing pin block functions correctly in that if I push it down the firing pin is blocked when I push in on it.

Gun current state with block in.  Hammer does not stay back when manually cocked.  Hammer stays back when slide is slowly racked but follows the slide if racked normally.  Safety does not engage.

Gun state with block out.  Hammer stays back when manually cocked.  Hammer stays back when slide racked.  Safety engages.

What the hell did I do and how can I fix it so I can run this thing with the damn firing pin block?

Your help is greatly appreciated

Best help I can give is.
Step 1 go to basement
Step 2 build time machine
Step 3 go back in time
Step 4 tell your self not to screw with a functioning safe pistol.

Or go to a gunsmith with the "box of shame" and have it fixed.

What hammer? Which FPB - OEM or extended? What FPB spring, OEM or lightened?

Did you install the sear spring correctly?

Ok, issue resolved.  Not sure how I mangled it up but while looking for the factory firing pin I found a thinner, longer spring in the cz junk drawer unlabeled.  I cut it down to the size of the firing pin block plus a bit and installed firing pin.  Firing pin block stops firing pin when depressed.  Gun launches pencils.  Hammer stays back when slide released.  All like it did before I went fucktardery.  Not sure how, but I'm pretty sure the spring I bagged up with the firing pin block was too strong, wrong part and not letting the leg on the sear thing lift.

Now I can go back to shooting slow.  Thanks,

Fuck man, do you do anything productive here? Or just found a place to verbally jerk off every day?

OP - Yeah you had too much pressure on the sear, not letting it reset to catch the hammer in time. Glad you figured it out.

Perhaps in the future you should use your phone to take some video before you take your gun apart so your u can see you got it back together correctly.

Or Maybe hi points are more your speed┬┐
