Why were there so many DQs for the 2017 USPSA Armscor Rock Island MultiGun Nationals?

I counted something like 252 entrants and 12 DQs; is that a lot?

Just curious....

Doesn't sound like too many to me, considering the number of competitors.

As usual, seniors DQ at a much higher rate than non-seniors - par for the course. Can't take the keys away, that's be mean.

Even Dianna Ross DQ'd.

But if you DQ and the match doesn't pay the fees, does it still count as a DQ?

More to the point, why does 3 gun get all the cool division names?  I want to shoot Heavy Metal Tactical, not weak-ass Production.

12/252 is low. That's only 5%.

5% of people running with guns are breaking basic safety rules. That's pretty high.

Out of 252 shooters, compared to average gun owners and considering how little it takes to get a DQ that's fucking god like.

There are lots of safety rules in 3-gun and Uspsa that take safety way beyond the four basic rules of gun safety. Hell breaking the 180 really isn't unsafe. I definitely don't use it when hunting birds. Neither is having a safety off and a round stuck in the tube of your shotgun when setting it down. I could go on. When you have 250+ people shooting 200-300 rounds each running around like their a$&hole is on fire some of those super safe safety rules are going to get broken. We all live on the edge when shooting competitions. Sometimes you slip over. I know I've DQ'd almost as many times in 6 years as they had DW in this match.

The average DQ rate is prolly in the 10-15% range if I had to guess.

The 2016 Open/L10 had 10 DQ's out of 212 shooters. That's the same %. Those guys and gals do a lot less running around, less going prone, and never transition to different gun.

They must be really effing unsafe!

seems like 2-5% is a pretty normal range for  uspsa matches, although the number can go up if people have their heads up their asses regarding a particular stage feature.

6% at Limited nationals. Unsafe SOBs!!! I'm sticking to IDPA! You're not allowed to run in that sport, right?

Last years multi gun nats had ~5% too.

https://practiscore....sults/new/18669

Last years Superstition 3-gun had a lot of DQ's and people were pissed. Things like jammed prop guns off safe when ditched and a few other ridiculous things I can't recall. It was still only 6%, 24/355.

My guesstimate of 10-15% must have been way high. I'm stupid.

You can't run with that much weight on your gut and bad knees. No need to even address it in the rulebook.

Make it five. I must have missed the post count limit rule on the FAQ's.

Shit I AD'd on that last one before I could fix the typo and now I can't find the edit button on this shitty mobile version of this forum. I'm sure I'll be run over the coals for that by the Fudds.
