It's just a feeling, I can't describe it.

Multi-purpose Eurotrash revolver.

Then Uncle Sugar got hold of it and turned it into something useless.

Somebody should tell the DoD that Guderian and friends proved fixed defenses are useless about 80 years ago.

Why design a modern day weapon that doesn’t self load?

I think the word "naval" in the weapon's description pretty much makes it a non-stationary system.  Unless the ship happens to be tied to a pier........

If it's on a ship self loading isn't a requirement on account of the city worth of crew members running the thing.

Also, they thing the maker touts is the versatility of munitions which is easily changed by what is loaded in it, it seems simplicity is the key here.

Any self loading mechanism would need to be able to store and feed all the different types of munitions including any future munitions they haven't designed yet. If all the munitions were all the same size you could make that work but since they are different sizes (by the video) you are just opening yourself up to endless combinations you have to make work.

Actually, gun mounts (all the way to our 5 inchers) are 100% auto loading.  On the 5/54s there are a few guys keeping the magazine full, the smaller ones (76 and 57 mm) are completely unmanned.
