Serious question, do we have any update as to when it might go live? Last Mike said anything it was in final testing, wasn't it?

This is starting to sound like gunsmiths coming up with excuses. "yep it's still at the coater... hopefully next week."

I get weekly reports with regard to specific modules tested, results, fixes, estimated timelines, etc. I got the most recent one yesterday. A lot of the original Indian code is crap, and we are way over budget and under resourced. I still expect a launch announcement soon, but it most definitely won't be while Troy and I are in France. The last week of August through the Labor Day holiday. Timeline considerations after that will include proximity to Irons Nationals week, etc. We are close, but again, cautious. This is our number one priority behind the mission critical and essential reactionary stuff we do everyday.

You do realize the majority of Microsoft, Google and Facebook programmers are India/China heritage.   I guess the trick is to hire quality Indians.  Offshored ones rarely, if ever, work well.

Hire onshore developers and don't practice any supervision and see what kind of product you get. Folks assume that offshoring IT (and transactional processes, and customer support, etc...) means you don't need to manage the process, delivery, and quality of those services anymore. Hell, the nice folks at Genpact might even tell you they have it covered. Unfortunately, that ain't the case.

Your average fresh out of school developer there might lag slightly behind his US counterpart, but it's the management where shit really falls apart.

Yes - however - times have changed and more IT work is going to Poland and other places in Europe. Less turnover, they are time zones ahead of U.S., better quality output.

I thought it was racist.  I'm going to take a time out.
