I'm thinking about putting in for a new position in the Yakima area, anyone know the club/match scene out there?

The club/match scene is alright. You'll have a local match and a few you can hit with only an hour drive or so:

Your primary club would be the Yakima Rifle and Pistole Association:
They hold Steel Challenge matches the first Saturday of the month and USPSA the last Sunday of the Mar-Nov Weather Permitting. They shoot at Sun Valley Targets shooting range in Moxee, WA (about 15 min east of Yakima). As of this year, they've been having indoor matches during the winter at TheRange (http://www.therangellc.com/) which is the best indoor range in Eastern WA.

Your second match would likely be at Eastern Washington Pactical Shooters Associates (EWPSA) in Benton City, WA on the 3rd Sunday of the month. They shoot all year round in winter.

There is also the Inland Northwest Action Shooters on the 2nd weekend of the month in Spokane, WA.  I believe they move to indoor during winter.

L2 matches would be the Inland Empire Sectional (Benton City, WA), Oregon State Championship (Bend, OR), Columbia Cascade Championship (Dundee/Albany, OR), Washington State Championship (Custer, WA), and Idaho State Championship (Nampa, ID). Area1 Championship will be in Monata this year, so about a 5 hour drive for you.

Otherwise, there are a lot of matches on the west side of Washington if you want to do the drive as well. There are also a few facebook groups like https://www.facebook...75382025857069/in which we share upcoming matches on the east/west side.

Awesome, thanks Roons!
That's about 1000% more opportunities then I have here in Montana. That much action definitely helps offsets the hassle of moving.

If that's "alright" my area must be downright dismal. That's a lot of shit to do in one place.

we drive out to benton city for local matches once or twice a year, as well as the inland empire. It is a world-class wine region if you are into that kind of stuff. Also pretty much the hops capital of the US.

fwiw, note that the idaho section/state championship rotates around. 2 of the clubs are in the boise area, one is in baker city oregon (close), and the other two are in twin falls and eastern idaho (far away).
