Update!! ACME is back on top with the new bulk pricing, .0566 at the 12000 level

This list is all for 9mm, if you are not using that, you probably don’t care about your costs.

This is also after all discounts, shipping included, tax etc… the cheapest out the door price available

Acme 124gr old code expired - side note- they sent me 50% more than advertised- not a guarantee but... damn!

Blue Bullets- 125gr .058¢ ea, 147gr .065¢ ea (code “10-50” orders over 10,000)

Leatherhead 124gr .059¢ ea, 147gr .067¢ ea (call)

SNS- 125gr .063¢ ea, 147gr .070¢ ea (code “DISCOUNT10” orders over 10,000)

BBI- 125gr .063¢ ea, 147gr .071¢ ea (email)

Bayou- 125gr .064¢ ea, 147gr .0699¢ ea (call)

There are more companies, but I can’t find any competitive in price and not as popular anyway.

It is also understood that your boy runs one of these companies, or you put their logo on your jersey for a discount, or you arbitrarily like one over
the other.

Yeah yeah, they all are A zone accurate, sponsor shooters, are good people, and they all support the shooting industry. Buy what your heart tells you.

It is also understood that fractions of a penny are not nominally relevant, but over the course of a 30,000 rd year, a half cent is $150.

Added perk- my Primers spreadsheet

Taking into account the Hazmat/Shipping/Tax/price per 1000 the best places to order are

1) 3rd Gen

2) Selway

3) Gamaliel

4) Powder Valley

5) Grafs

6) Brownells

And buy locally if the price goes under $28.38/1000

Mods- feel free to close the Cheap Ass Bullets 2016 and Cheap Ass Bullets 2017 threads. Mensa members haven’t cracked the DaVinci code on that and still post on the 2016 thread.

My experience with Acme...

I ordered 3000, I got 6 sealed bags... in a sealed wooden crate labelled 3000

I counted out 100 weighed them and started weighing the rest. I got 760 in the first bag. Every other bag weighed exactly the same.

That is 4560. 1560 extra.

If that is consistent, the price per bullet on Acme is actually $0.0372

I don’t see any QC issues as previously reported, and the 1560 extra would more than make up for it.

I'm guessing they meant to send you 4 bags.

Are you doing a max michel and just keeping your unearned stuff?

Theyre bagged in 500 quantities. Apparently they include a little buffer of extras. I will report when my order comes in. His report of the extras was enough for me to try them again. I almost want to stay hush hush about it so it keeps happening if true...

They shipped me a sealed wooden crate labelled 3000, I assume they put everything in that crate on purpose.

If I got 2 crates when I ordered 1, they would get a phone call.

I also didn't call them back for the pack of targets they put in there, either. I'm just scandalous like that.

The targets are a nice touch. I like them to sight in.

Fake news ace. I got my shipment of 124g acmes. They qc wise look pretty good at a glance. In the two boxes ( I balled out on 6000) multiple bags were cut open so I couldn’t weigh every single bag. BUT, I did count two untouched bags and each weighed the same before counting. 515 in each. It’s pretty easy to count by pouring them over 100 flip top 9mm round holders to get an accurate count. Weighed two other bags comparing it to the weight to the two counted and they all weigh the same. 90 extra rounds in an order of 6000 is cool but it’s not 3120 extra that’s for sure.

Maybe they did fuck up.

I just emailed them.

Still a good price on those future Alphas.

Still the cheapest out there for regular non professional shooting folk for sure.

Why I’m done with Acme until QC changes:

http://forums.briane...ality-concerns/

Sure, they sent more bullets to replace those... which were also fucked up. And a 147 and a smashed-flat somethingorother we rolling around in there.

I’ll stick with Blackbullets or blues. Their 1245gr profile can load out to 1.150” in a CZ chamber that won’t take the Acme past 1.108” ... and I can just dump the bullets in my feeder without checking every damn one visually to make sure a 147 or a 115 or a bald 124 isn’t next in line to get fed through my 650.
I won an IDPA match once. It was neat.

I didn’t get any that I am concerned about out of the 760 acme I handled.

The coating looks as uniform as bayou and black and blue were.

Black and blue actually did have a fair number of half poured bullets and I gave no shits. Throw them out and move on.

I ain’t getting paid though, go with what you like.

They said "Thank you for contacting us.  We will look into it."

2nd email-

"We appreciate your honesty and your business.

We have checked the remaining bags and did not find any variances in our current stock.

Thank you for contacting us, we do appreciate it!"

I'm guessing that it is not normal to get a shitload extra.

Did you count all of one bag or count 100 then weigh the remaining?

I got my sample packs last evening. They all look pretty consistent as far as coating. How much are they spending on the wooden boxes? I'll run them through Mr bullet feeder this weekend and see how they do.

How many rounds a year?

~8K if it's a really good year. Looking at a random receipt on my office desk at $37.59 / 500 that's roughly .08 cents a round, not great but I don't buy in bulk and each box comes with a 100 cases as a side bonus.

If I had side cash and shot enough to level small countries like some people here the cost savings would probably outweigh the immediate convenience factor.

I hear a lot about how shitty Xtremes are, but I still can't outshoot what they can do. Can't refute they're shit, but they work well enough that they've never bothered me.

Then you are one of the lucky ones.
