I shot on waktasz's squad. It's a decent match. Lots of hoser stages based but the design, staff, and match management are good overall. I shoot it every year and it's a good way to end the shooting season. Lots of folks had issues at the chrono but it wasn't anything that the staff was doing unreasonably. Candice was 0.2oz over weight for Production. A couple X5 shooters went to Open with factory 21 round mags (the need to have a small amount of material removed from the base to fit the gage). Lots of shooters had ammo chrono slower than expected, but that could have been due to the weather.

My same batch of ammo that was 138pf at Area 8 was 128 at this match. It was also about 50 degrees colder at chrono this day compared to A8

What powder were you loading?
I won an IDPA match once. It was neat.

Didn’t realize it was that temp sensitive.

I’ve gone from Solo1000 to WST to Prima V, which is a trend of sticking with inverse temperature sensitive powders. Since it’s easiest for me to chrono at 100 degrees and not 15, I like having lots of opportunities to develop match ammo when my rounds are making their lowest PF.

If a lot of people had issues it's not the powder, it's the derpy ass chrono. Happens all the time.

I'm wondering whether the radar based chronos will improve reliability. I think the official process doesn't account for using that style chrono.

Moral of the story?

Have a minimum 10 PF buffer.

I always laugh at the guys who claim they load to 130 "so I don't have to worry about chrono".

Actually this batch may have been dropped a tenth of a grain since a8. I'll have to ask my ammo slave to confirm
