You do realize that there is no one here to read your practice journal, right? This place is more dead than eunuchs underpants.

I give zero shits if people read this. I’ve found it valuable for ME to write things down and be able to go through it at the end of the season.

03/22 & 03/23

Practice:
G17 #1
19x
G26
600 rounds

Observations:
I’m trying to pack a lot of focused practice in preparing for my first real match this season (GSSF in Idaho April 13th &14th). The drill I’ve been using is a more difficult version of 5 to Glock. As of now I’m not consistently accurate enough with the G26 to replace my G30sf in sub-compact. Inside of 15 yards I can match accuracy and time of the 17 or 19 but at 25 the wheels fall off. I thought the G26 having less recoil (and cheaper ammo) than the G30sf would result in faster times but the timer doesn’t lie. Shooting clean strings is the only way to perform with how painful C and D zone hits are.

03/29 & 03/30

Practice:
Gen3 17 #3
G26
300 rounds

Observations:
Finally put up a 10X on the 25 yard drill with a G17!!! Spent most of my time running the plate rack, I’m consistently in between 2.2 and 2.3 seconds. Transitions between plates have been .25 or .26. If I really turn up the heat 2 second strings are possible but the percentage of clean strings drops way down, so as of now I’ll be more that happy with 2.5 second strings at the match.

04/07

Practice:
G26
90 rounds
G17 #2
90 rounds
19x
200 rounds

Observations:
I set up 5 to Glock with paper @ 5, 10, 15, 20, & 25 yards. Most stage totals with penalties were in the mid 20’s. My single best total with penalties was 18.48, that time would CRUSH in 10 shot divisions at any of the GSSF matches I shoot.

04/08

Practice:
G17 DPP
150 rounds

Observations:
5 to Glock & 25 yard drill. I didn’t do anything great (I usually don’t after a hard work day) best was 7X on the 25 yard drill and 22 seconds on 5 to Glock. My dot blinked out several times which has me a little apprehensive to use it in a GSSF match. I’ll probably just use G17 #1 in unlimited, competition, and master stock.
