Anyone know when or where? I’m sure it’ll be July in Florida like last year, but I can’t find anything.

So here is a question for the hivemind. Why is IPSC nationals always held in Florida? Especially in the dead of summer? Surely there are other ranges somewhere less shitty/far away that would be willing to put on the match?

And on that note, I should return to dry firing in my bathroom with a space heater and the shower on full hot.

My guess is that nobody else wants it.

Especially in the dead of summer?

Has to be early enough to not compete for attendance with USPSA Nationals and Area matches, maybe? And early enough that it doesn't interfere with building out the Nationals extravaganza??

Well somebody should bid for it for next year. Because some of us don't want to have to go to Florida every other fucking day.

Yes, because actually being able to practice during the winter isn't enough of that.

This made me laugh harder than it should.

But seriously. Someone, really anyone, should bid for it for 2019. Preferably someone on this side of the Rockies.

We have a range south of Chicago that is expanding like crazy (Aurora Sportsman Club). They have like 19 bays right now and are looking to expand to something crazy like 28 or 30. They even have a 600 yard range.

A USPSA club is just starting up, so it wont be anytime soon, but at least moves are being made at the correct facilities to offer up more locations for larger matches in the future.

There is so much money in running a Practical Shooting major match. It’s really strange that no one will bid on these stress-free goldmines, isn’t it?

Especially a match like IPSC that is supposed to be perfect and yet isn't very prestigious, is unappealing to sponsors, and draws a higher than average ratio of rules lawyers.

Who WOULDN'T want a low-esteem, high-detail match like that?

But, no prize table. Everybody wants that, right?

Where do they find IPSC ROs to run that match? I know for sure I don't know anything about that gay sport

Its a little comical that a lot of people think it is fundamentally different.

It's not fundamentally different but I know there are little gotchas in the rules that you wouldn't expect. Like on a weak hand table start you can't touch the gun with your strong hand at all. Is there more stuff like that? I don't really know because I haven't bothered to look.
