If you read it in a WSB as the start position for PCC, what would it mean to you?

FYI - This is supposed to be a link to youtube clip of a snickers commercial to better explain my screen name. Apparently, my attitude can get abrasive when I'm hungry and you're stupid.

That's the kind of question an IDPA shooter would ask.  A USPSA shooter would just game the fuck out of it.

I would consider low ready to mean buttstock on shoulder, safety on, finger off triiger, muzzle pointed down at approximately 45 degrees. This is the low ready start used in Steel Challenge for rimfire rifle , etc.

The "standard" PCC start position or what my MD refers to as "the usual shit" is buttstock on belt, safety on, finger off trigger, muzzle down range as I understand it.

Quite possible a non rifle guy could say "low ready" but mean "the usual shit".

~45 degrees down, but that doesn't mean sporting bodies and stage descriptions don't royally screw something that simple up.

If there is no clear definition in the rule book it can be whatever the RM or MD deems it to be

I only run out-law matches,

Low ready - stock shouldered, muzzle below belt line.

You can game as much as you want from there.

I don't mind stock on belt. There has been many stages that the first 2 shots went off from that position..... Gotta love that laser!

Nothing, absolutely nothing at all.

To me it would mean you have rifles at a handgun match with people so Ill-prepared to administer they will rage that their personal understanding of low ready means a position that no human has ever used to hold a rifle and then enforce that by scribbling on the WSB mid-match and threatening competitors who challenge this doublethink in a situation so bizarre it would make Orwell switch to IDPA.

But this is because rifles were touted as not bringing any differences and being just the same as handguns except they can’t be safely retained on the body except by hand, can’t safely be shot one-handed, can’t safely face uprange, and can’t be used with less than 40 rounds, but can be handled safely outside the course of fire unlike handguns, so there was no need to prepare the RO Corps because there are no changes.

If any questions, please contact the Ministry of Rule Truth.

It is attitudes like this that cause PCC shooters to be discriminated against. It isn't our fault that other divisions have to do things like reload and shoot strong hand only with only one hand.

If I ever get to design a stage then there will be so tight with space for a rifle, sorry, Pee-See-See, so it wont fit anywhere. The crying and moaning will be entertaining.

Maybe even epic.

Nice thought but we of the PCC have already countered this threat.

My thoughts: the RM made it abundantly clear several (I think like 8) times during the RO briefing before the match that all PCC shooters were to start stick on belt pointed at cone. The fact is that 3/4 of the way through the match it was discovered that one squad allowed the PCC shooters to start the stages with the stock shouldered. At that point we have a problem, and that problem is competitive inequity. So how do you solve that problem? Either make like 10 shooters reshoot the entire match from stock shouldered or make those 2 shooters reshoot the stages with stock on belt. Apparently they made those 2 shooters reshoot.

As for other things, the whole WSB getting edited after day one, blah blah blah crap. I don't really know. I was embedded with the super squad on Friday and they all brought pistols to a pistol match so we didn't pay attention to PCC start position . I know a couple of the WSBs disappeared during Friday and Saturday. Guess shooters decided to take them as evidence and leave the ROs scrambling.

I'm more concerned at the facet that a shooter stole my oakleys and hat Friday. Guess this is the new USPSA.

Those damn newfangled Carry Optics shooters we wooed over from Pistol Forum will steal anything that isn’t nailed down.

Last weekend we caught one of them with two and a half cases of Steel Target Paint in his trunk.

TL/DR:
Rifles = ruined pistol matches.
Carry Optics = kleptomaniacs
Coca Cola = Not sponsoring this shit show

Stealing stuff from a club or at a match is lowest of the low!
I generally consider the competitive shooting community rather trustworthy, that being said doesn’t mean I don’t lock my truck.

I had a lefty PCC shooter rage quit a match last year BEFORE the match because when he walked the stages there were 3 of 7 that had hard left shots around barricades. Never mind that 3 of 7 had hard right shots around barricades too. He said we were discriminating against left handed PCC shooters.

I told him it was a pistol match and it was equally hard left or right. He hasn’t been back since.
