I've been using an old Safariland double-mag pouch, but have a tendency to snag the second mag and dump it on the ground while drawing the first reload. I'd like to get some single mag pouches so I can space them out a bit. Any advice on good options that are IDPA legal?

Ready tactical are cheap and durable. I don't shoot idpa but that's what I used my first few seasons in USPSA with no complaints.

+1 on ready tactical as the best choice.
I won an IDPA match once. It was neat.

I checked them out, the open design worries me, can anyone confirm that they meet IDPA requirements? There's some language in the rule book about mag carriers having to cover the entire outer face of the magazine, not sure if that's legal.

The outside face. Which faces directly away from the belt. That’s the only surface they care about. The rule was created to prevent the use of a specific safariland model which left virtually the entire mag exposed.

Ready Tac’s are legal; I won a couple of state level matches in SSP with them back in the day. They’re very popular in IDPA.

Edit: The one IDPA wanted to ban...

Chris at ready tac was an IDPA MD for several years he knows what's going on. He also builds my favorite kydex style gear

I cannot even begin to describe how depressing it is to find "Recommendations for IDPA legal mag pouches" as the top thread on Doodie several times in a row.

Have some pride.

IDPA is pretty tarded, I'll say it.

Solution to IDPA gear problems is go shoot USPSA.

I was going to suggest tanning a couple young bull scrotums to use since your own sack must missing...

(But really though, the pouches from Ready Tac are solid. You can likely even get Chris to make them so that one hangs a little lower than the other (like the balls you wish you had) and put the lower pouch further back on your belt to minimize the opportunity of snagging the mags on each other.)

FYI - This is supposed to be a link to youtube clip of a snickers commercial to better explain my screen name. Apparently, my attitude can get abrasive when I'm hungry and you're stupid.

The only possible way you could be gayer is if you shoot pcc in idpa.
