Oregon State Champs:

Shot pretty well on Saturday. Came out on Sunday and got 3 no-shoots on the first stage of the morning. Assumed the match was over, got pissed off, got inside my own head, threw a mike on the 3rd stage, got 3 more mikes on the 4th stage.

Ended up only losing by 8 match points, so not having any one of those mikes would have still gotten me the win. But because of the lapse in my mental game I pissed it away.

Lessons learned:
It's not over until the last shot is fired.
The last stage is over, so forget it and move on.
Focus on this stage, this array, this target, this sight picture, this trigger press.
Everything is a lesson. Even if you didn't want to learn that lesson that way.

My match was a disaster as well. Been sick all week before the match. Took some Nyquil a night before and Tylenol at the morning... Felt foggy and tired all day. Should have just stayed home....

Let it be the last match you screwed up this year.

good lesson to learn. I blew up my gun there last year and zero'd a stage, but just kept shooting and ended up only few points from second in SS.
