We set this up and shot it for fun last night. We had two GMs, 2 A class and two B class guys there. The handicap system was pretty fair.  We used a big plate rack for the extra plates.  I'm not sure if using full poppers would have made it better or worse

I still think an Open pistol is faster on most pistol stages than a PCC.
I've shot 3 matches - 2 divisions Open/PCC , pistol wins every time.

My son has never been beat by a PCC .

Maybe you guys just have shitty pcc shooters around you?

I still don't see how someone of equal skill with an Open gun can sling a long-ass, minor PF rifle around a stage as fast as you can swing a pistol...

FYI - This is supposed to be a link to youtube clip of a snickers commercial to better explain my screen name. Apparently, my attitude can get abrasive when I'm hungry and you're stupid.

Sure, on pistol stages (or at least, at pistol matches) that is true. But on a stand and deliver plate rack at like 10 yards? Gimme a break. Show me one dude who can run a full plate rack with like .2 splits with his open pistol, and I will show you at least 5 probably that can do that same thing with a rifle.

I've shot a couple of sub 2.0 plate racks in my day. Those are still only ~.23-26 splits.

Physics?

I was about to start typing a rebuttal, and then it dawned on me that this thread is not in reference to an actual USPSA match but rather a falling-steel "event" with little movement...

I would still give it even money unless the plates are out a little further.

The PCC will be faster to shoot for sure, especially if we were using that plate rack with the tiny bowling pin shaped plates....but everyone around here who shoots PCC reloads the thing like a tard so they will get smoked.

Then again, no one at my club seems to want to run this thing so I've given up on it. Losers.

We don't include a reload in our shoot offs. If we did I think the margin would be significantly smaller between the rifles and pistols.

I am a little salty about the no reload thing, because I can get pretty sporty with them and it would help me get in the money.

Your local PCCers haven't learned the finer points of the Ghost-Load yet???

PCC starting with an unloaded gun is an excessive disadvantage.

Let them start loaded but use a different start position.

If there's a mag in the PCC it should be right in the pistol draw time range, but why not have both guns start in the same condition?

Either both held in hands, chamber empty, or just loaded and resting on a rail Second-Chance style?

Pcc shooters should have to start with their vagina exposed.
