Looks like the cost of being affiliated with IPSC is more than getting doubled for USPSA next year, going from the current ~$8500 to somewhere north of $18000. That's a lot of flowers...

What are your expectations and hopes of increased value we'll get from this 100%+ increase?

I don’t think it doubles for the US.

They just increased the max member level from 2000 to 3000. So you’d be up for $4k (1000 x $4).

I believe it went up to $6/shooter.

So, $600 + $6 x 3000 = $18,600

Where is this information coming from? I looked on GV and couldn't find a source for this.

Will they also be changing the "hit the minimum number of shooters and you get the same vote" system?

So... From the GV thread it looks like USPSA actually was the one to suggest an increase in the annual affiliation fee from $500 to $600, and to raise the per capita fee from $4 to $5.

Since there's no check if you actually have the number of shooters you report and some countries are known to over-report, the number of extra slots might be pretty small.

With the salary cost for IPSC going up over 200%, the money has to come from somewhere, I guess. Not sure what additional value all those new salaried positions are bringing in either.

I did see that they almost ran the well dry last year pretty near exclusively on “sponsorships and advertising” and “travel” and the GA was held in Thailand.

Coincidence?

I heard a while back that Nick's travel budget as IPSC Prez was $300K/year. Nice work if you can get it.
