In 1990 the USPSA VP said the purpose of USPSA was to support the amature shooting sports athlete. Seemed like a novel idea. What is the mission of USPSA today?

54:00. The gate. How many fat fuckers shooting today could clear it without a crane or a hoyer lift? And when was the last time you saw any sort of "holster test" at any USPSA match?
The good old days. When men were men and the shooting sports were too hard for most of you whiny, obese, low testosterone bitches.
No one likes me, and I don't care.

Area 4 maybe 1994. There was much whining. 50 yard standards too IIRC. Similar levels of whining. Slightly fewer matching shirt & pants Team-wear ensembles.
So you can see the "ooh, that's too hard for [ geezers | kiddos | noobs | USPSA to manage or police | ROs to count ] and people are whining, lets relax the rules" is not new, just that shooters really were way harder back in the day.
Use the rules. Don't DQ someone who doesn't do anything DQable. -- Da Beard.

USPSA was the shit when there was only one division, awards were Lewis Class, when shooting 9mm was a mortal sin and the biggest technological advantage was the 8 round 45acp magazine.
Along came the compensator, the red dot scope, the double stack magazine, the 10yr. 1m dollar contract from Springfield Armory for TGO and so on and so on and so on.
Out went the Rhodesian Wall, holster tests, 175pf, Standard Exercises, 50yd shots....
The state of USPSA ?
Fucked....

1984 sucked balls. No internet and fucking Cold War propaganda
1984 was awesome. Senior in HS, chasing and catching poontang without a fucking care in the world left me no time to pay attention to Cold War propaganda or to wonder WTF is an internet.
I need something to do while shooting, and thinking about titties is too distracting - Stubb
