World Shoot has 400ish slots

IDPA Says about 50% are going to international competitors

IDPA then says Internationals are random draw. So Random guy who shoots every match he can in his home country to get the points vs joe blow. Both have a equal chance of getting a slot.

As a US competitor you need to shoot level 2 and up matches to earn points, those with the most points win. but they are only letting in 200 us shooters.

Since World Shoot is basically the US Nationals. Why would they only allow 400 shooters. Last years nationals was 330ish people. They really thought that only 70 people from OCONUS would show up to this thing?

Not a news flash: Such a dumb sport.

Then when you go to register, you had to type in the number of points you have and a human had to go look at that at one point and approve it. You'd think with something like Practiscore(or even the IDPA website that keeps your stats)  it would be super easy to see

Why would anyone that shoots IDPA want to compete on a world level?

Anyone that gets butthurt about not getting in to IDPA Worlds can go shoot the Galactic World Super Championship of Shooting or whatever they call that match in WV these days.

Or perhaps the PASA Single Stack Classic is more up their alley. I hear they have nearly 40 shooters registered this year, so they can probably fit another one or two in.

Imagine referring to an IDPA match as a "world shoot".

Think I saw something on Youtube from Poland. Wild animals was involved so it could have been a travelling cirkus. Dunno.

At least they have the word "International" to justify a world event.

Myself, I'm still wondering what happened to "Practical".

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

At this point in history, IDPA is no more dumb than Foley's organization in general.  It's certainly way less dumb than PCC and the current production "rules".

What had happened wuz....someone figured out that they could introduce a new concept to pistol shooters called PCC and industry would follow with a few platforms and then gunsmiths would pop up and start peddling said products and then much money changed hands from manufacturers to said person who introduced PCC into the world of pistol shooting.
It really is ALL about the money.

IDPA is way less dumb since they added fault lines. My freaking weekly local Wednesday morning match gets 50 plus shooters. Now just work on the vests and the retarded reload rules.

Close. The manufacturers needed something to stimulate their flat business trajectory so the whispered sweet ideas into the ears of a few folks that picked up the ball and ran with it.

And just like that, you got new shit.

PCC wasn't Allowed in IDPA until Wilson Combat made a PCC. So it is all about money.
