Can someone fill me in on the whole cookies thing? I've not met the lady in question. PM is fine if we can't talk about it in public.

It's real. It is one of the documents included in an E-Mail from one of the match organizers. They always want people to register the night before instead of the morning of their scheduled shooting day and they E-Mail the forms to people to complete so they can drop them off.

Smith is Smith. They have always had aggressive marketing department that outpaces their quality control. Lot of people like their shit.
Have fun. They all deserve one another. If you go to that shit, you are an enabler.

This thread highlights the hard left turn idpa has taken in the last couple years. The disappointment is that the sport has more potential than their administrative ability can handle. Their membership outgrows all this stupid shit that goes on and move on. That leaves idpa with a bevy of mostly D class/Marksman running the place sprinkled with the sponsored shooters and their strap hangers to trick the lame gun media to write something that brings more new ccw shooters out.

If anyone with enough brains to figure out a stage can't see the downward trend, then you are blinded by the glitter. Try the kook aid.

Cookies? Look the chick up in the results at matches. If she isn't at the bottom, she is close. She is part of that clique and she always apparently bakes cookies for everyone. SOI? Really?

Nimrod nailed it.

The waiver is real.

The change is real.

The result is real.

The sport has potential - given the stated member numbers and the very real dues and fee structure there has to be enough income to produce something meanigful. instead, it's subscribers have been duped into thinking it is a charity for a righteous and noble cause. The last bastion of honor for the common man. When in reality it presents a substandard administrative and theocratic management structure and produces C class shooters who get thier clocks thoroughly cleaned by 'either by the Annointed ones or 'gamers'.

IDPA is selling self gratification to competitors who fill out the bottom of the bell curve and commercial media footage to the industry via labor supplied by the members. It is a ' let them eat cookies' Kingdom.

The waiver is now a Royal writ to banish those who point this out.

A tiger team is a group of experts assigned to investigate and/or solve technical or systemic problems. A 1964 paper defined the term as "a team of undomesticated and uninhibited technical specialists, selected for their experience, energy, and imagination, and assigned to track down relentlessly every possible source of failure in a spacecraft subsystem."[1] Huh? Maybe they could develop a team to refine a better Snickerdoodie Snickerdoodie Cookie Recipe: Recipe Type: Cookies Yields: 8 dozen Prep time: 15 min Bake time: 10 min Ingredients: 1/2 cup vegetable shortening* 1/2 cup butter, room temperature 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar 2 eggs 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon * Do not try making this recipe using butter only and skipping the shortening. You will not be happy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Question - Who defines 'appropriate' ? Is it like 'suitable for all day wear'?

I vote Julie. Considering her standing with S&W and her obvious high moral fiber she would probably be the front runner.

I don't think so...I'd guess she wants nothing to do with this debacle. Notice how no DM has said anything about the direction the sport is headed and there are some DM's and M's that are not bound by sponsorship contracts.

The typical "rock and a hard place" positioning one finds themselves in when they either support or are told to support bad policy.

S&W does pay for rooms for out of town SOs.  They also pay, the last I heard, $5000 a year to IDPA for the word "Nationals."

Let's see . . . . vindictive.

Rule 5 is in place specifically to address a problem that arose last year.  A rather thick headed, hunch back of Notre Dame sort of fella said something to Yost's adult daughter that she did not appreciate of a suggestive nature.  He was DQed.

Bam, We got a rule for that!

Debbie is a nice person...mind you she never pointed a loaded gun at me or attempted to apply an unearned penalty to me (she was an SO at the past two NYS IDPA Championships I attended) but overall she is a decent person...and the cookie thing is a friendship ritual with her. No harm no foul.

I disagree fully with her support for bad SO's, bad rules, and bad policy but she is a true believer in the "social" aspect of the shooting sports.

Kitty Richards is a decent person also but should have never been in a position to make or influence policy. I equate the ability to make or influence policy with shooting and instructional credentials of which other than towing the company line and being available to work IDPA's National Matches she lacks.

This doesn't make either person a bad person and Im not assailing their character. All I'm saying is that they are good people with good intentions that shouldn't have as much sway with HQ as they do.
